More Still Life Paintings

Today we looked at some art books from the library to examine famous examples of still life art work. This painting by Matisse really captured the children's attention. After discussing the artist's motive for painting these particular objects, the children concluded that Matisse must have really enjoyed his morning breakfast!

We put out a new object for the children to paint - our favourite - crocus flowers.

The children that chose to spend time working at this center really took their time, carefully observing the details of the flowers and attempting to capture them on paper.

As always, their work was stunning!
