Generating Blends

Our children have been working on recognizing the sounds that correspond to a specific letter. To challenge them we asked them to think of "ch" words today.

Imagine our delight when children generated words that had a "ch" at the beginning and end of the word! We also had a very interesting conversation about why Mr. Christian's name didn't sound like the other "ch" words even though he started with a "ch" too. 

At home why don't you challenge your child to think of other words that have blends in them (e.g., ch, th, sh).
