We have been working very hard to help children develop confidence with number sense. We want them to be able to 'play' with numbers and recognize number relationships, especially to 10. On our morning message we encouraged them to fill in ten frames with stickers to correspond with a specific numeral.
During playtime we posted blank ten frames on an easel with stickers and pencils and encouraged the children to fill in their own ten frames and write the corresponding number.
It was interesting to see the children's desire to work together and compare numbers. We love to see children helping one another in their journey to enjoy math and develop deeper confidence and abilities!
