Mentors Sharing Messages

We met with Grade 1 mentors today who shared anti-bullying messages of kindness and support through the language of sculpture. 

It's always meaningful to visit another classroom and see what other children in our school are doing!

Plasticine

Plasticine is a great sculpting material. It's firm so it holds its shape well and comes in a variety of colours. It's very challenging to manipulate so it works well to strengthen the little hands and fingers that create with it. Strong fine motor muscles help with future pencil grasp and writing abilities. 

Paper Mâché Numbers

The children were eager to work with a paper mâché medium today. We formed the numbers that will be a part of a number line displayed in our classroom. Once the numbers are dry we will paint them.
