Float and Sink Experiment

On Friday children experimented with objects in order to see if they floated or sank when placed in a tub of water. The children self-selected objects from around the classroom and after determining whether the object floated or sank, placed the object in the appropriate collection. The children observed that objects made of paper, plastic and wood seemed to float while metal objects were more likely to sink.
