Catapults

Mini catapults made from wooden clothespins are a fun way to engage children in a fine motor and math activity.

The purpose of this game is to catapult mini chips into a bowl and keep score to see who gets the most points.

He shoots...

...he scores!

Go Team Canada!

Our hallway monitors were broadcasting the Olympic hockey game today.

Some of our children noticed...

...and celebrated a goal by Team Canada!  They couldn't stay still long enough for the picture!

Sorting Buttons by Colour

Today we placed a large basket of buttons on the math table with colour mats.

The children were eager to explore the buttons and successfully sort them by colour.

The children discovered that one colour has many shades.

Valentine Friend

Look at the cute friends some of our children made today at the art table!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Chemical Reaction

The children explored a chemical reaction today in our science area. We coloured white vinegar with food colouring using the primary colours and invited the children to drop it onto a mystery substance.

The children had many guesses for what they thought the powder was as they watched the chemical reaction.

The reaction of the liquid with the powder was fascinating and the children noticed that the primary colours mixed to create new secondary colours.

"It is like pop! It fizzes and is turning brown!"

Surprise!

Keep your eyes open on your mailbox for a surprise!
