Textured Painting

In order to add a little excitement to our painting easel we decided to encourage texture in the artwork. These cups have quinoa added to them. 

The children thought it was interesting to see the 'bumpy' paint and observed the quinoa made the paint thick and more difficult to brush on the paper. 

The combination of colours and textures made some amazingly beautiful art!

The children had the opportunity to experiment with mixing the primary colours by dropping coloured water on to the snow.

PJ and Pancake Day

What could be better than PJ and pancake day?

A reminder that tomorrow is PJ day in our classroom. We will also be making a special pancake snack with the children. 

Crazy for Lego

We surprised the children with a huge bin of small Legos. They were so excited!  Look at how well 12 friends can play together!

They made so many neat creations. 

Children who wanted to share their creations were encouraged to sign their name and write what their creation was.

Recently in our classroom we've encouraged children to try mixing primary colours with whites, greys and blacks to see what new colours we can create.

Today we picked white and look what beautiful Easter colours we made!

Snack Question

Each day at snack our children can create their own question.  Children who visit snack are encouraged to read and respond to the question. Eventually we will leave the paper blank and children can independently write the whole question.
