Splatter Painting!

We tried a new and very exciting way of painting today! Using elastics, we stretched and splattered paint against a paper in order to create interesting pieces of artwork. (This activity is very messy and not for the faint of heart!)

Safety goggles are a must so paint doesn't get in anyone's eyes.

After stretching elastics around a basket or box, children put a thick coat of paint on each elastic.

Then the elastic is snapped so the paint is flung against the paper.

It was a very popular activity! Can you see why?
