Pine Needle Painting
One of our children brought in some very interesting, large pine needles from a weekend trip. The children in the class were fascinated with how long the needles were and how so many individual needles were held together at one end. We added some to our lizard habitat (sand table) and others we used as paintbrushes. It was challenging for many to fit the needles into the paint cups and manipulate them as brushes (and great fine motor practice)!
